Rowing

Rowing is a great strength sport

The sport ofrowing has developed over thousands of years. It is an exciting Olympic Sport with several disciplines. Put simply the rower sits in the boat facing backwards (towards the stern) and uses the oars which are held in place by the oarlocks to propel the boat forward (towards the bow) You can row on a river, lake, reservoir or even the sea. Competitive rowing teams are made up of 1, 2, 4 or 8 rowers. The amateur Rowing Association (ARA) is the National Governing Body for rowing.
