Cumbrian juniors selected for British Orienteering Summer Campa and success at the World Schools Orienteering Championships
19th May 2008
Three Cumbrian juniors from West Cumberland Orienteering club have been selected for the British Orienteering Summer Training Camps.
They are Rosie Watson who will be heading to Lagganlia near Aviemore for the M/W14 tour whilst Graham Hemingway and Charlotte Watson will be heading to Badaguish, also near Aviemore, on the M/W16 tour.
A fourth junior from the club, Lewis Taylor, was named as reserve for the M/W16 tour. The Summer Training Camps will be a great opportunity for the top athletes in each age class to develop and gain skills to help them to improve physically, mentally, technically and tactically as orienteers in the future.
Rosie, Graham and Charlotte are also recently back from the World Schools Orienteering Championships in Edinburgh where Charlotte won both the long and middle distance titles in her age class. Rosie and Charlotte also took home team gold in the overall competition for their age class. For more details please see www.wsco2008.org.uk/.
