Equality Standard

The Standard was launched in November 2004 and particularly focuses on eliminating barriers currently faced by under-represented groups which include women and girls, ethnic minority communities and those with disabilities.

The Standard is a joint initiative between the UK and four Home County Sports Councils and designed to improve the equality and remove barriers to participation in sport. It aims to guide the work of organisations, agencies and governing bodies by providing a framework to engage with people from all backgrounds for them to be involved in sport and physical activity.
