Copeland SPAA
In Copeland there are various sporting facilities, these facilities are based around the borough’s population centres. Whitehaven has a sports centre and swimming pool, Egremont has a swimming pool, Cleator Moor has a bowls centre and artificial pitch, and Millom has a swimming pool, recreation centre and artificial pitch.
In addition to this there are a variety of outdoor pitches and facilities within the borough. There are also outdoor activities which take place throughout the borough and take advantage of Copeland’s natural environment; such as its coastal areas and its close proximity to the Lake DistrictNational Park.
Copeland currently has eighty eight sports clubs registered with the sports development department. Of these clubs fourteen have achieved ‘Club Mark’ status. In addition to these clubs there are also various other unregistered clubs and sporting societies within the borough.
