Save Border TV's Lookaround
30th January 2008
The Save Lookaround Campaign believes that the proposals to merge our regional news with news from the North East is wrong. If current proposals go ahead, they will result in our region only having a 8-10 minute slot of news at the end of the 6pm bulletin instead of our current 30 minutes.
Border TV’s nightly magazine programme Lookaround is the most watched regional news programme in the country.
The campaign strategy is to convince the broadcasting regulator, Ofcom, that the idea to scrap the programme is serously flawed. The regulator has it in its power to block ITV’s plans to reduce its commitment to regional news.

Cumbria Sport Partnership is supporting the campaign as if plans go ahead then the quality of future news and sports coverage for the region will be much reduced.
