Carlisle City Council Sport and Recreation Team are holding a Tennis Leaders at Bitts Park during half term on Thursday 29th May from 10.00am - 3.00pm.
This is a bolt on to the Sports Leaders Award and is a great opportunity to gain some practical experience working with Children aged 4-10 years old.
The Tennis Leader Award involves 5 hours of practical training looking at issues such as communication and organisation during mini Tennis sessions. This is then followed by 5 hours of Practical experience working alongside and assisting a qualified Coach. This may be assisting with mini tennis sessions at Bitts Park, helping at fun days and competitions or assisting with scoring mini tennis games.
You do not need any knowledge or experience of Tennis to do the course, only Sports Leader skills.
This course is free and you will learn various things including:
- Aspects of leadership relating to tennis
- Planning and preperation for delivering tennis sessions
- Setting up and leading tennis activities
- Demonstrating and feeding back
- How to score matches
- Organising teams and round robin competitions
Young Leaders Awards are an ideal introduction to sports that you are interested in and look great on your CV.
