Cumbria Sport Partnership Conference 2008

Cumbria Sport Partnership held our first partnership conference on Thursday 15th May 2008 at Carlisle Racecourse.

The conference was a huge success, providing delegates with updates on the work of Cumbria Sport Partnership, the Youth Sport Trust the emerging Sport England strategy and updates from key sport and physical activity partners and projects from around the county.

The event provided an excellent networking opportunity, allowing delegates to discuss the key challenges facing the sports sector in our region.

The afternoon session saw inspirational interviews on 'how sport has changed my life' with Mike Liptrot, Kendal Judo Club and Sam Kaye, Troutbeck Swimming Club. The event concluded with a moving and highly motivational and inspirational speech from mountaineer Jamie Andrew.

Information gathered on the day will be fed into the Cumbria Sport Partnership Sport and Physical Activity Strategy 2009-2011 and help to shape future projects.

You can download presentations from the day as well as information from network tables by following the 'Presentation' link on the right.
