Job Title:

Why I became a Board Member

I have been passionate about sport from my days in Primary School and have played or been involved in sport all my life.

What difference would you like to make on behalf of Sport and Physical Activity in Cumbria?

I hope that being on the Executive Board will give me an opportunity to help other young people to realise the potential as members of society through involvement in sport in its widest definition.

I look forward to being an advocate for Cumbrian Sport.

Experience

I was a member of the Steering Committee that established the successful Countywide Active Sport Programme, with hockey as one of the focussed sports.

Your interest in Sport and Physical Activity

I have played:

  • Cricket for Lancashire  and North of England Schoolboys and for Barrow in the North Lancashire & Netherfield the  Northern Leagues.
  • Hockey for Ulverston & Netherfield (Kendal)

I have umpired in the both men's and women's County & Regional leagues.

I have held both committee and chairman roles for the Cumbria Hockey Association & for Cumbria Hockey Umpires Association and also held the role of Secretary for the Umpires Association.

I am actively involved in hockey umpire training & mentoring of young and developing umpires.
